At a glance

The YMCA (Young Men Christian Association) is the biggest Christian ecumenical youth association in Germany and a meeting point for 330,000 young people in 2,200 associations. Moreover, the YMCA is a worldwide community of about 45 Million members. A long-standing partnership between the YMCA Nuremberg, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, and the YMCA of Guangzhou enables young people to collect experiences through a voluntary service or an internship in Hong Kong and other cities in China. 
 

Our Programs

International Youth Voluntary Service

Every year, we offer a 10-months international voluntary service for German nationals in the metropolis Hong Kong. Together with other volunteers, young people enter a whole new world and make this time their own personal experience. 
This government-funded program is our main focus and is connected to preparation-, midterm-, and final-seminars, subsidies and much more. 


Time period of the international voluntary services: 
Annually, from the 1st of September to the 30th of June. 
 

Voluntary Service in Germany

Get the possibility to do a 12-month internship in a german YMCA.

Together with other volunteers from Germany or around the world, you get the chance to gather new experiences and grow personally.


Time period of the international voluntary services: 
Annually, 12 months, beginning at the End of August.

Short-term and Long-term Internships

(1 - 12 months) Apart from the international voluntary service, we also offer internships in Hong Kong upon request that are mainly self-funded. Applicants from all countries are welcome and distributed to several working positions depending on their skills, interests, and time of stay and live, work, experience, understand, and learn together with the international interns in Hong Kong.
